Dr. Green attended Ohio Wesleyan University and Ohio State University for his undergraduate schooling before completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree at Ohio State University. He moved to Jacksonville upon graduation in 1973 and was employed by Southside Animal Clinic in Arlington. November of 1978, Dr. Green opened Atlantic East Animal Clinic and Pet Center in Atlantic Beach. Dr. Green developed his medical and surgery skills under the direction of the following doctors:
- Dr. L. E. Green: Dr. John L. Green’s father and an OSU Distinguished Alumnus, past president of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, and the originator of Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, one of the first central hospital/specialty clinics in the US; the art of practice, surgery, and diagnosis.
- Dr. William Crago and Dr. Declan Huber: Crago Animal Hospital; orthopedics, soft tissue and spinal surgery.
- Dr. Franklin Gruesser: OSU Distinguished Alumnus, past president of the American Animal Hospital Association, and past owner of Southside Animal Clinic; orthopedics, spinal surgery, and radiology.
Dr. Green has been a beach resident since 1976. He enjoys playing golf and tournament racquetball. Dr. Green and his wife have a Boston Terrier, Bugsey, and Bella, who is supposed to be a Frenchton but we really think must be a Dr. Seuss character.
